Awesome Kids Project When my youngest son Eli was in the third grade, his teacher, Ms. Finberg, made every child in the class finish this sentence: You are awesome because for every other child in the class. Each child went home with 25 pieces of paper that described why they were awesome to someone else. Eli held on to those slips of paper for a long time. When he felt down, or bad about himself, or just needed a pick me up - he would pull them out and read them. It was an amazing gift of kindness, self-esteem building, and love between 25 nine-year-olds. Kids are 100% themselves all the time. They accept, trust, and love without abandon and without judgement. What you see is what you get, and often what you get is amazing. I want to talk to kids hear kids about why they think they are awesome. I want to hear about their hopes, their dreams, and maybe they will reveal their secret superpower. I want to take a portrait that shows their inner light - visualizing why they are awesome. I want to give kids the gift of a visual image of their AWESOME and remind myself what it is like to accept and trust and love without abandon. Listening to kids teaches me how to love and accept what is, and reminds me to allow other to show up as themselves. Heres how it works: AGES: No ages limit, but I found my own kids (ages 11 &14) had a really hard time with this concept, but your child may be more self-aware and intuitive. If so, let's talk! QUESTION: What makes you awesome? Will audio record your child answers and condense it to a short paragraph. PHOTO: a simple true portrait - no cheesy smiles, no fancy party outfits. I want to see them in their most loved outfit, the clothes that are so them - especially if its their pajamas or last years Halloween costume ;-) YOU GET: One high-res file of the best portrait selected and if there are more images a small online gallery to view and purchase from. But no purchase is required. WHERE IT GOES: My website, my blog, social media, and my newsletter.
